The Heinävesi Music Festival celebrates again the Power of Light of the nightless nights and the unique Nature of North Carelia with great works of Sibelius and Grieg and also Beethoven or Vivaldi.
In 2023 the Artistic Director Erkki Lasonpalo will bring to Heinävesi the Vivo Symphony Orchestra, a philharmonic orchestra with talented young musicians. The two orchestral concerts will both be led by the Artistic Director of the orchestra and the Festival Erkki Lasonpalo.
The symphonic concerts form the foundation of the festival programme but The Heinävesi Music Festival traditionally has a strong focus on Lied and Chamber Music. Our chamber music concerts in Heinävesi Church, Heinävesi Parish Hall and in the Valamo monastery offer a more intimate setting for reflecting the thematics of the unique Nature.
We are happy to welcome back to Heinävesi mezzosoprano Monica Groop and the Maestro of Lied, pianist Ilmo Ranta. The concept of the Heinävesi Music Festival brings generations together. Genius and experience meet with passion and young talent in Heinävesi!
The adventurous mind will find much to explore in Heinävesi during the festival. Heinävesi also offers cruises through the unique lake scenery of Saimaa, along Finland’s most beautiful, narrow water route ”Heinäveden reitti”.
You are most welcome to join us and enjoy the music and the unique — one could say Sibelian — scenery of Heinävesi!
